Concept Description

‘Monetize’ concept is part of ‘Advanced Analytics’ reports along with ‘Coaching’ and ‘Dangerous trends’, ‘Comparing to industry’ (last two are not yet in the developing process). This report comes in help to identify how much money companies lose with fuel consumption, when drivers are speeding or idling. Other important feature included in this report is the probability of the car insurance increase, in case of a car accident, based on drivers’ behavior.

Technical Description

‘Monetize’ report is divided in 2 categories:

Efficiency

‘Efficiency’ report is calculated from the point of view of fuel consumption when drivers are idling or speeding. The fuel consumption increases when speed is above limit or when drivers are staying with the engine running for too long.

  • Here you can find the ‘Weekly progress’, where is displayed the loss evolution from the last 2 months in weeks;

  • Last week will always be the week selected in ‘Reports Period’;

  • For an easy shortcut, to see which drivers are losing more money, there is a ‘Top 5 drivers’ box. Too see all inefficient drivers, click on ‘View more’;

  • As this report is calculated based on speeding and idling, a pie chart was added to the report, so you can see which one is losing more money. Every type is clickable, showing which drivers are speeding or which ones are staying too long with the engine running.
  • Idling: Depending on each category of vehicle, there is an average fuel consumption/ hour while idling (expressed in liters/hour). So, it increases as much as the idling time increases.
  • Speeding: The same as in idling, there is an average fuel consumption per each category of vehicle (expressed in liters / 100km or gallons / miles). So, it increases when the speed is above the speed limit. If a speed event is recorded, the consumption increases by % of fuel consumption/100km for every category of vehicles.

Safety

This type of report is a little bit different of ‘Efficiency’ category. Here is presented a foresight, where you can see how much money will probably lose on insurance, based on driver’s behavior. This methodology determines the statistical probability of the annual car insurance increase (measured in USD), in case of a car accident based on driver’s behavior. The total average annual increase of car insurance used in the formula is calculated as an average of average annual car insurance increase for an at-fault incident of all states from USA (for 2018). So, all safety events – that may lead to accidents (see safety violations in Safety Report) have a safety risk coefficient and it will multiply with the increase of insurance. Everything is calculated in USD.

  • As in ‘Efficiency’, you can find a ‘Weekly progress’ and ‘Top 5 drivers’;
  • Also, is important to see which events are more common, so an overview on ‘Top 5 events’ was added.
