X1 Camera Familiarization

Approximately 10-15 minutes; Be intentional to have the lead mechanic in the training for the first 10 - 15 min to go over the LEDs and the Cameras physical wiring and mounting... If mechanic is not available go over this info for the non-technical people anyway as they will be able to discern LEDs if instructed.

during the training, open the WiKi at www.wiki.idrive.pro and select the X1 Installation and operation guide;

have it open on screen and cover the following items:

  • Mounting and positioning
    • Verify tightness of Hex nuts - camera should not be able to move on H-bracket
    • Discuss power cable release operation

  • Wiring and optional connection suggestions
    • Yellow Wire for Dome light
    • Green Wire for optional 12VDC+ (Backup Alarm, Taxi Meter, Emergency Light Bar activation, Etc.)

  • Cable release method
  • LED understanding; Behaviors
  • Serial Number Identification

  • Vehicle Parking near Access Point
    • Facing Access Point
    • Height should be no more that 12-15 feet from the ground to the bottom of the AP
    • Roof mounting usually blocks right under AP and can reflect signal
      • Building side mounting is preferred
      • A 1' stand off bracket is better than surface mounting the AP
    • Verify Access Point has water proof tape on knuckle between antenna and AP - not underneath where the cable goes in)

  • Access Point location and expansion
    • If coverage is inadequate speak to client about rotating drivers parking
    • Additional APs can be installed to cover a large area
      • If necessary Idrive can engineer wireless bridges to assist in client coverage where no cable can reach
      • Client responsible for installation (Idrive install can be had at a quoted cost per install)

Software - Fleet Manager

Approximately 1 1/2 hours

  1. Demonstrate the desktop shortcuts to the Idrive wiki
  2. Visually inspect the desktop for idrive.cert file
  3. Verify the client has the Idrive USB Thumb Drive near by (supplied with the station)
  4. Verify VLC media shortcut
  5. Verify recommended settings are taken for Windows Media Player

Click on the Control Center software icon to begin

  • First time sign in with admin@admin.com / admin
  • Take client immediately to the Fleet Manager and describe the three parts
    • Devices, Vehicles and Personnel - Before training can take place these three parts of the data need to be interconnected

Personnel

  • Recommend setting up at least one user other than Admin@admin.com
    • Create a user other than theadmin@admin.com and then sign in with the new client admin account and delete the admin@admin.com acct

  • Demonstrate Admin versus location and Custom Users Permissions
    • Show the various system areas of access under the permissions tab for a user

  • Demonstrate Email Configuration (under Edit tab at bottom)
  • Demonstrate Location, Group/Department; or leaving empty option (changes how it populates the organizational tree on left)
  • Demonstrate Driver creation (no account needed)
    • Sub categories for department(s) as well
    • Show how license, health and insurance can be listed with reminders and alerts in the Dashboard

X1 Devices

  • Explain how this is populated and sync-ed with Idrive Servers and only needs to be accessed to verify Last Download date or vehicle assignment
  • Demonstrate Export/Print (same for all pages where data is listed)
  • Demonstrate clicking top headers to sort data by column

Manage your Vehicles

  • Demonstrate creating a vehicle - important items are:
    • Vehicle Name
    • Vehicle weight
    • Vehicle G-force (which can be altered afterward)
    • Show the Device Serial Number button (has three dots on it) to attach a device to a vehicle name
      • Also to change an attached device to another device, while selecting the status of the removed device
  • Demonstrate clicking top headers to sort data by column

Software - Play and Review

Explain the difference between the options of:

  • X1 Events
  • D4 Events (most clients do not have these)
  • GPS Events
  • OVEDR Events (these are Other Video Event Digital Recordings)
    • perhaps to allow old events from other manufacturers to be viewed in the CC software after they have been imported

Open the Play and Review window and point out the following

Display events in the List of Events Window and describe to the client the following:

  • Thumbnail images at the event trigger
  • Type of Event
    • Shock, Panic, Alarm, Periodic, Speed
  • Demonstrate where the driver could be assigned to an Event
  • Point out Event ID, Record Date, Max G-Force, and highest Speed during Event
  • Point out the 4 different Icons (Status)
    • Not Viewed - Landscape icon
    • Viewed - Eyeball icon
    • Reviewed - Pen icon
    • Incident - Exclamation mark on a triangle icon

From the left search column, demonstrate how to drill into many events using the search options

Explain to the client that no one expects you to look at all the videos, but use the search options to find behaviors at varying speeds and search options to find behaviors. Using the search options allows you to reduce the amounts of events to view while looking for specific behaviors

  • Event ID search
  • Date Selection of search
  • Search By: Record Date or Download Date
  • Status
    • Viewed, Not Viewed, Reviewed, Incident
    • Scored and at what level (explain scoring soon)
  • Speed
  • Vehicle, Driver (if previously assigned), Location, group or Device

Select the tab on top for Advanced Search)

  • show how you can drill into the events and find previously scored events, or "check box" items search (like no seat belt, etc.)
  • Click the Reviews icon (Triangle with bars) and show the client:
    • Accumulation of data including; Speed, GPS, Camera snaps and Shock Value (if shock type)
    • Show client how comments, per-selected behaviors and scores (0-4) can be assigned to the Event

Close Review and go back to Events List

In the Events List continue working to the right in the icons

  • Exporting a file (looses all GPS data and just exports raw videos)
    • demonstrate how to export to desktop
    • play exported file with Windows Media Player
  • Email icon will not work without some data in it, so put in fictitious email data and save (do not test)
    • Tell them to correct it later
    • Show the window that opens with an email attached
      • Demonstrate removing the video
      • Do not send it will fail
  • Demonstrate the Lock Feature
    • Placing and removing
  • Click the I in the circle icon - expands data to right for more information

Software - Import

Define the difference between the three types of videos that can be imported

X1 Events and Data

  • Define the situation of why you need to be able to import Videos and Data
    • Vehicle breakdown and cannot get back for several days
    • Accident and vehicle towed to a repair yard
    • In the rare case a device WiFi or system WiFi fails events can be imported
    • In some cases, a vehicle(s) may not come back to download often, a supervisor could remotely pull the data and bring it back to the Base Station for Import
  • Define the function of the USB thumb drive that was supplied with the Base Station
  • Show the idrive.cert file that is located on the desktop and its importance
  • Explain steps to insert the USB thumb drive and to download onto the thumb drive; (See client side wiki) |USB export camera; Import software
  • Walk through the inserting the USB thumb drive to the PC and Importing to the software

D4 Videos and Events

If the client does not have any D4's, then just speak a moment about what a D4 is;

- A hard wired, 4 Camera, 1 channel composite recorder capable of recording full stream video and audio onto a removable hard drive

  • In the Control Center software show how the videos previously saved to the Base Stations hard drive (C:\Users\Idriveadm\Documents\SDFile\Record) can then be imported into the Control Center software and cut into saveable 30 second clips for review and uploading to the Global Center for remote viewing like other X1 Events

OVEDR Events

- These are events from other manufacturers cameras that the client may wish to import into the Idrive Control Center in order to maintain one system of new and old events that are reviewable and up-loadable to the Global Center

Software - GPS

Software - Reports

Software - Alerts

Software - Global Center

Take them to the Global Center via their Internet Explorer and demonstrate, Search, Advanced Search, Reviews and Comments

Then show them the GPS Tracker

Software - Settings

  • Admin Settings for auto delete
  • Devices, Vehicles and Events Settings
    • Go through the tabs and show the various settings that download to the Cameras via WiFi
