Base Station Configuration Guide
Hardware Setup and Documentation
Unpack computer and document the following information so it can be tracked in the future. An example Dell system is shown and this information is available from the labels on the computer case. Keep written records stapled to Base Station Checklists (https://admincenter.idriveglobal.com/wiki/index.php?title=Base_Station_Configuration_Checklist) for entire shipments at a time.

Plug in, connect all components, and turn on the system. Place stickers by each of the ethernet ports: the stock port should be labeled "Internet Connection" while the auxiliary bay that houses the extra network card should be labeled "Idrive Wireless". The internet feed should be connected to the "Internet Connection" port, not the "Idrive Wireless" port.
Software Setup
Set BIOS to Turn On Automatically:
- Turn the computer on.
- While the computer is booting, repeatedly tap F2 to enter the BIOS menu
- Navigate to Power Management\Auto On Time
- Set it 04:00 AM, Every Day
- Apply and Exit
System Identification: The particular order and questions will vary depending on the system.
- Computer Name: Idrive_base
- User Name: Idriveadm
- Password: 111111 (password hint: six 1’s)
- Set windows to install updates automatically
- Do not worry about network type or time zone, for now.
Uninstall bloatware: Control Panel\Programs\Uninstall a Program
- Uninstall all bloatware. (The programs change with every shipment, but be on the lookout for MacAfee, Dell Protected Workspace, and Dell Watchdog)
Set User Account Control (UAC): Control Panel\System and Security\Action Center\Change User Account Control
- Set track to “Never Notify” ( This is so the Idrive Transfer Tool will automatically start)
Set the Workgroup to IDRIVE: Control Panel\System and Security\System\Advanced System Settings\Computer Name\Change...
Set Power Plan Setting: Control Panel\System and Security\Power Options
- Verify the Dell plan is selected, go to Change Plan Settings and click the "Put the Computer to Sleep" dropdown, select "Never"
Internet Connection: Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center\Change Adapter Settings
- Verify internet connectivity
- Should be set to automatically get its network addresses (DHCP). This should be good by default.
- Right-click and rename the connection “Internet Connection” (There should be two connections, one connected and one unplugged. This step is for the connected one.)
Idrive Wireless Connection: Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center\Change Adapter Settings
- Right-click and rename the connection “Idrive Wireless Connection” (There should be two connections, one connected and one unplugged. This step is for the unplugged one.)
- Right-click on the Idrive Wireless Connection and select properties, select “Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4)”, select properties
- Set up the IP address to 192.168.0.10
- Network mask 255.255.0.0
- Default Gateway should be blank
- DNS servers should be blank and NOT automatic
Set Network Order: Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center\Change Adapter Settings
- Ensure that the Internet Connection network and not the Idrive Wireless Connection network is accessed for the internet.
- Press ALT to make the advanced tab at the top appear
- Select Advanced Settings
- In the connections window use the arrows to ensure that Internet Connection is on top and the Idrive Wireless Connection is second, click OK
Show hidden icons in the Taskbar:
- Click on the arrow on the taskbar in the bottom right, select customize, Click show all icons checkbox.
Disk Partitions/Raid configuration: Taskbar
- Check to make sure the RAID 1 set is working. Intel raid manager icon in lower right corner should have a green check mark
Insert the Base Station USB stick: Copy all files to the desktop, then safely eject and remove. The following files should be on the USB stick:
- idrive.cert
- winbox.exe
- Logo 1.png
- Compressed Install Files for Microsoft SQL 2008 (MSSQLServer)
- Compressed Install Files for the latest Idrive Control Center (Idrive_server_2_6_2_live as of 9/4/2014)
- Compressed Install Files for ViewPRO and AV player (MDR_Client_V2.29)

Move winbox.exe to C:\
- Don't miss this step!
Install ViewPRO and AV player: Run the install file from the folder you copied from the USB, you do not have to extract.
- Defaults for all questions
- Delete the shortcut to ViewPRO, but leave the shortcut to AV player
Install Microsoft SQL server 2008R2: Run the install file from folder you copied from the USB, you do not have to extract.
- Click on “New Installation”
- Defaults for all questions EXCEPT for “Database Engine Configuration”. Set it to “Mixed Mode” and idrive2# for the password.
Set Idrive Logo as Background:
- Right-click Logo 1.png and select "Set as Background"
Set Idrive Logo as Screensaver:
- Move Logo 1.png to the pictures library (Start\Pictures)
- Delete the Sample Pictures folder
- Right-click the desktop
- Select Personalize
- Go to Screen Saver
- In the dropdown, select Photos
- Apply and Save
Set Idrive Logo as Account Picture:
- Right-click the desktop
- Select Personalize
- Click Change your account picture
- Browse...
- Find and select Logo 1.png
Set Home Page to idriveglobal.com :
- Launch Internet Explorer
- From tools (gear in the top right) select Internet Options
- Set Home page to www.idriveglobal.com
Install Acrobat Reader:
- http://get.adobe.com/reader
- Uncheck install google toolbar/chrome etc.
- Click Download
- Select Run
Install VLC Media Player:
- http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html
- Click Download
- Save to Desktop
- Right-click and run the installer as administrator
- Defaults for all questions
Install Microsoft Security Essentials:
- http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials
- Click Download
- Select Run
- Let it update and scan.
- Go to settings
- Set to full scan, Sunday @ 1AM, uncheck last two boxes
Install Teamviewer:
- http://www.teamviewer.com/en/download
- Click Download
- Save to Desktop
- Right-click and run the installer as administrator
- Select checkboxes for Install For Remote Connection and Personal/Non-Commercial Use
- Accept license agreement
- Select Start Automatically with Windows (might be default now)
- Create a strong password and confirm it (format #Idr79p for example, and keep it to be entered in the Idrive Admin Center)
- Record the ID number that pops up
- The application will launch
- Go to Extras\Activate License, enter 09-31204-461595-555666 (with dashes)
- Go to Extras\Options\Security
- Set Windows logon to Allowed for administrators only
Setup Windows Media Player:
- Click Start, search for "windows media player", and open Windows Media Player
- Complete default/recommended setup
Install Dell Updates:
- Click start and search "upd" to find Dell Client System Update
- Search for and install any updates
- NOTE: there is a link to Windows Update in the top right
Install Windows Updates:
- Click start, search "wu", and press enter to open Windows Update
- Search for and install any updates
Restart Computer
Specific to Customer
Set Customer’s Time Zone:
- Click the clock in the bottom right
- Select Change date and time settings...
- Select Change time zone...
- Use the drop down to select the appropriate option
Add Client to Partner List in Teamviewer:
- Open Teamviewer
- Log in on the right side panel (Talk to Mark if you need an account)
- Click the drop down that has the icon of a person with a plus sign
- Select Add remote computer
- Enter in the Teamviewer ID and password specific to the base station you are working with
- Set Alias to <Customer Name - Location Name>
- Select Pending Activation in the Group drop down
Install Idrive Control Center: Run the install file from the folder you copied from the USB, you do not have to extract.
- Before this can be run to conclusion you will require a Validation Serial Number (License). This is generated in the Idrive Admin Center.
- Find the new location in the Admin Center
- Enter the license number when prompted
Create a Shipping Form: Template at \\IDR1\Users\Idrive_support\Support named "New Base Station Shipping Form" (Please do not save over!)
- Enter the customer name and address under Ship To
- Enter contact name and email under Customer Contact and Account
- Adjust shipped items appropriately, default is one base station and one access point
- Enter computer information and RB Groove MACs (if applicable) in the box at the bottom
- Save at \\IDR1\Users\Idrive_support\Support\Shipping\Base Stations with name <Customer Name - Location Name>
- Print 2 copies, one for the box (Alex) and one for billing (Chrysta)
Update Location in Admin Center:
- Find the location in Admin Center
- Click Edit Location
- In the comments box, enter the computer Service Tag, ESC, Windows Code, Serials, and RB Groove MACs
- In the Remote Access fields, enter the Teamviewer ID and password
Transfer Ownership of the System to the Customer:

- Enter all required information. Info can be found in the admin center or invoice.
- NOTE: Previous owner information is Company Name - IDRIVE INC, Zip Code - 93111
Allow Teamviewer and Control Center through Windows Firewall:
- Click Start and search for "firewall" to find Allow a program through Windows Firewall
- You may have to click Change Settings at the top
- Make sure that both boxes are checked for the 2 Teamviewer programs
- Make sure that both boxes are checked for the 3 Idrive Control Center programs
- Click Allow another program
- Click Browse...
- Direct to C:\Program Files (x86)\idrive
- Select the idriveControlCenter application
- Allow it from the list and check both boxes for it
Shutdown, Disconnect, and Repackage the Computer:
- Make sure access points and additional hardware are with or in the box
- Print the Idrive Base Station Installation Guide and place it inside the box
- Print the Client Weekly Maintenance Routine and place it inside the box

- Give all materials to shipping

BulletHP2 Setup
connections
Attach the Antenna to the Bullet prior to powering on the unit!
The Ubiquity BulletHP2 is receives its power over the shielded ethernet cable (POE).
Plug a regular cat5 cable from the ”Idrive Wireless Connection” network port of the computer into the Lan port of the POE injector.
Plug the “FTP” (Foil Wrapped Twisted Pair) cable from the POE port of the Power injector to the NanoStation.
Plug in the POE adaptor into a wall outlet.
Verify there are lights on the unit.
Network connectivity
The factory default IP address for the Bullet is 192.168.1.20 . The idrive wireless connection interface subnet must be changed to for the initial configuration of the NanoStation
Start>Control Panel>Network and Internet>Network and Sharing Center>Change adaptor settings, Right Click on the Idrive Wireless Connection and select properties, select “Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4)” ,select properties
Set up the IP address to 192.168.1.10
When Windows 7 detects the new network (wireless router) it will ask for the network type. Chose “Public”
configuration
Launch internet explorer and enter the address http://192.168.1.20
Login as ubnt with a password of ubnt
Network Tab
Network> Network Mode: Bridge
Network> Bridge IP Address: Static
Network>Set the IP address to 192.168.0.1
Network>Set the network Mask to 255.255.0.0
Network>Set the Default Gateway to 192.168.0.1
Network>Set The Primary DNS Server to 192.168.0.1
Network> Auto IP Aliasing unchecked
Click Change
Click Apply Changes
Change Idrive Wireless Connection settings back:
Start>Control Panel>Network and Internet>Network and Sharing Center>Change adaptor settings, Right Click on the Idrive Connection and select properties, select “Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4)” ,select properties
Set up the IP address to 192.168.0.10
Launch internet explorer and enter the address http://192.168.0.1
Login as ubnt with a password of ubnt
Wireless> Wireless Mode: Access Point
Wireless> SSID: bwifi (these are case sensitive)
Wireless> check Hide SSID
Wireless> Country Code: (Default is USA)
Wireless >IEEE 802.11 Mode: G mode Only
Wireless> Channel Width: 20Mhz
Wireless> Channel Shifting: Disabled
Wireless> Output Power: 20DBM
Wireless> Antenna Gain: 9dB
Click Change
Click Apply Changes
System> Administrator Username: admin
System Password : idrive#
Click Change
Click Apply Changes
Log back into the Ubiquity Bullet with the new password
Test download from a unit.
NanoStation 2 Setup

The NanoStation is receives its power over the shielded ethernet cable (POE).
