D4 Initial Configuration and Setup

Process steps for configuration of Idrive D4 for Customers. (Firmware Update, Idrive Default Configuration, Install Hard Drive)

Check Firmware version to verify that this main board has the NOR_FLASH "S8R15" installed

The firmware for old DVRs with NAND-FLASH starts with S5R16 or S7R15, while that for NOR-FLASH starts with S8R15. This is the easiest way to identify old (with NAND-FLASH) or new (NOR-FLASH) DVRs. You can also open the housing and check out the flash directly.

=== Document serial number(s)

1) Record Serial number from sticker on the back of the unit. ( Is this on the outside of the box?) to enter into global center later?

2) Remove hard drive carriage and install hard drive. Do NOT put back into system yet.

3) Plug in the Power Cable

4) Plug in the Monitor Cable

5) Plug in the Camera Cable

6) Turn power supply on

7) Insert the firmware and configuration SD Card into the unit

8) Turn the Key on ( wait ~40 Seconds for video and ~25 seconds for “Loading Disk”)

9) Press STOP on Remote Control to stop recording.

10) Update firmware MENU>SYSTEM>SYSTEM INFO>APP UPDATE (S5R16_0213_4EnNWifi.tar)

11) Read the configuration file from the SD card MENU>SYSTEM>CONFIG SETUP>CONFIG IMPORT> the UNIT will restart the App

12) Press STOP on Remote Control to stop recording.

13) Confirm the config MENU>LIVE>BACKGROUND = SEMI TRANSPARENT? If not the config did not get set.

14) Enter the serial number (from STEP 1) into the “LICENSE ID” MENU>MOTOR>LICENSE ID

15) Turn Key OFF

16) Remove SD Card

17) Install the hard drive

18) Turn the key ON

19) Format the hard drive MENU>STORAGE>FORMAT

20) Push record and verify that it can write to the hard drive.

21) Push stop

22) Turn the Key and Power supply off.

23) Box up unit with serial number on the outside of the box
