D4 Installation

<br\><br\> 1) Confirm with customer as to the location of the D4 and cameras.

2) Make sure that the mounting locations will not interfere with safe operation of the vehicle.

3) Locate a good source for the power supplies Constant12v, Keyed12v & Ground.

4) Mount the D4 while making sure to leave room for all connections and the removal of the hard drive.

5) The D4 is shipped with a power connector which has three wires red wire constant 12V, yellow wire switched 12v and black ground.

6) Use a volt meter to check for constant 12V and switched 12V.

7) Also supply will be a in-line fuse that will be connected to constant 12V red wire.

8) You will need to connect the fuse using a butt connector not supplies.

9) Once all connections to the D4 have been made you will need to a line the cameras.

10) Thin check that all idrive settings including the date, time and Time zone are set correctly.

11) In order to do this you will need a monitor of some sort connected to the output of the D4.

12) This can be done one of two ways if the customer ordered the monitor with their system you can use it. Because the remote control must be pointed at the sensor on the front of the D4 this my present a problem.

13)Connecting the D4 to a laptop is the preferred method.

14)Once the laptop is connected to the D4 Will need to open Amcap software to view D4 outputs.

15)If you do not have Amcap loaded on your computer you can download it from the I drive Center under downloads.

16)You Will need to make sure that the key in the D4 is turned the on position and that the ignition for the vehicle is also in the on position.

17)Once you have seen the Idrive splash come up on the screen you can use the remote control to check and change any settings.
