AI RMA Documentation:AI Format 256GB SD cards
Regarding the SD card issues, i can confirm this is a known issue with Factory Tool and we have a special procedure for formatting 256GB cards until we can release a fix.
I have attached an archive with some development tools. This archive needs to be extracted to some empty folder.
You will need to connect the camera with a power box providing power and ignition signal ON and also a microusb cable ready to be connected when prompted (after providing power+ignition). Do not connect the microusb cable yet.
Wait for the camera to boot the firmware and reach the point where it's printing the serial number on screen or later. In the folder where you put the tools, right click on "install.bat" and select Run as Administrator to install any necessary drivers.
At the end of the install it should say: "end... all ok".
You can press any key to dismiss this window.
Then, in the same folder, right click on "FIX_FORMATCARD_E001FIX.bat" and select Run as Administrator. A window will appear that will say: "PLEASE CONNECT CAMERA NOW"
You can now attach the usb cable and wait.
The window will show some progress indicators and at the end will say: "DONE -- PLEASE VERIFY IF ERROR PERSISTS AND PRESS ANY KEY AFTER"
You can press any key to dismiss this window.
The camera should automatically restart and the sd card error should go away. You can now remove the cable.
If you want to pass it afterwards again through factory tool make sure to enable the option to "skip format" or else the error will show up again. This fix only applies to cards larger than 64GB but you can use this procedure for formatting any sd card without factory tool involvement.
Please note that we have uploaded the latest 42.4 firmware + updater v2.9 version on the admincenter download page as i cannot attach it here. After formatting the SD card successfully i recommend updating any RMA cameras to the latest versions of firmware + updater by the USB stick method.
