Fix; APIPA address on Idrive Wireless NIC in Registry

APIPA (Automatic Private IP Addressing)

Stopping the mechanism in a small network that automatically allocated NIC Addresses in an IP address in the range of 169.254.x.x if no DHCP server can be contacted.

It may be desirable to disable this and to do this perform the following:

Start the registry editor (Regedit.exe) Move to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces

• Select the required interface (double click each and look for the address 192.168.0.10) • From the Edit menu select New - DWORD value (Maybe a QWORD value if 64Bit) • Enter a name of IPAutoconfigurationEnabled and press Enter • Double click the new value and set to 0. Click OK

Close the registry editor
