AI RMA Process

Receive RMA

When the package arrives RMA department will write how many Ais in the box and the day it arrived.

Enter into the RMA Spreadsheet

After footage has been recoevered refresh the firmware on the Ai. (Need to see new errors if SD card/Wifi/Cell do not work and how to fix).

When the Factory Tool process completes, generate an event on the Ai and turn off ignition power on the switch. This should cause the Ai to connect to a local wifi network and transfer files.

Once the Ai is confirmed working update AC and set RMA status to "In Factory - Repaired" with relevant repairs for the unit.

Create an RMA packing sheet using "New RMA Shipping Form" on the Support network share. Update the sheet with the repairs needed for the Ai unit.

Inspect the AI Camera

Check general condition

Check the Power connector to see if it is broken (Check key position)

Initial Test

  • Note: Unlike previous Idrive X-series cameras, the Ai does not need to be disassembled to connect to factory tool. It will need to be disassembled if there are any internal issues.

Test the camera to verify reported issues.

Determine if the Ai is able to power on using the Idrive Ai Switch Box. If it does not power on, unplug from switch box and disassemble.

Determine if the Ai power connector is physically damaged. If it is make a note for out of warranty repair. Give Ai to person who can solder on a new power connector.

Once repaired, continue with RMA repair. If the unit needs footage pulled from it, do that before anything else!
