D8 Repair
Verify the reported issue.
Check for physical damage to the connectors or case
Motherboard Replacement
Open the DVR case
- Remove the SSD Sled
- Remove the two top screws on the front of the D8
- Remove the 4 screws on the back panel
- Slide the top cover back and slowly lift up
- Disconnect the 3 cables to the Mother Board
- Lift off the Top cover and set aside
Remove Back Panel
- Disconnect the cables from the Mother Board, GPS and Cellular Modules
Move GPS, SIM and Cellular Module to replacement board
GPS Module
Remove the two screws securing the module.
Apply Blue Locktite to the mounting studs on the new board
Insert the two screws to secure the module (do not over torque)
Cellular Module
Remove the two screws securing the module.
Apply Blue Locktite to the mounting studs on the new board
Insert the module into the socket
Insert the two screws to secure the module (do not over torque)
SIM Card
Push the button to the right of the SIM socket.
Remove the SIM and insert it into the socket on the new Mother Board
Record the last 4 digits of the SIM Card
