D8 Reprocessing

Configure for customer

  • Load configuration file for correct vehicle type and time zone. Use USB stick with CC (Crane Central Time Zone eg. LPC) or LC (Loader Central Zone eg. LPC) to load custom configuration.
  • Change name of vehicle. Under System > Device, change name to reflect vehicle to be assigned to, could be TBD#, for temporary replacement.
  • Create label with serial number, vehicle name and SIM number. Affix label to the D8 and tape second label to the top for shipping. Print label in RMA room, rightmost computer. Open Zebra, the label program, and select D8 Label/.... template. Double click to open template but do not enter information directly into it. Click Print and the dialog box will have the entry boxes for the Vehicle, S/N, and the SIM#, which must be entered in its entirety, and which can be found on the old label of the D8. Use this paradigm for entering the updated information.

Change the SIM name in podsystem.

  • Open new tab from Favorite Library, "User account | freedom2manage.com". PSW and login info will be already setup. Search for SIM number using advanced filter, SIM #, and enter last four digits of SIM number in search field.
  • Select the correct SIM number according to last four digits. If search produces too many, enter more preceding digits if fewer results are desired. Click the SIM number and go to name field, change the company name, location, and vehicle number. eg. "BNSF LPC TBD##". Submit.

Assign D8 to the customer and location.

  • Assign new S/N of MB of D8 to AC system, by going to AC "Manufacturing>D4-DVR Production", then click "add". Enter the S/N and select IDRDVR8HD in item drop down menu. Click "Add Device" to complete task.
  • Assign to client by selecting the newly added device in previous section. Click on "Assign" bar, which allows the selection of the "Company", eg. BNSF, and the "Location", eg.LPC". Click on "Assign devices" to complete task.

TBD##'s have been populated by shipped units awaiting assignment to vehicles. Under "Device Status" select "unassigned", and then click "Assign" in lower left button. Concluded by pressing "Save Vehicle" (button on left hand bottom most)in previous menu.

Set Monitor Settings

  • In AC > Manufacturing > Devices, Enter the S/N of the device in S/N box and then click on the "Search" button. The device will then appear in the results. It may be more convenient to select the last four digits of the SIM # to locate the device and then cut and paste the S/N using CNTRL C and CNTRL V commands to copy the S/N into the AC device search engine.
  • Click on the S/N in the results and it will take you to the device's settings. In the "Monitored Channels" line check the first four boxes or whichever channels have been installed. In the "Snooze Channel" line the borders of the first four boxes or the ones being used should be highlighted. In the "Update Interval" line, enter 12 in the hours box and 0 in the minutes box.
