Accessing X2 Events on Micro SD using Ubuntu Linux
Launch VMWare and Open Ubuntu Image
Double Click the VMWare Icon to open VMWare
Double Click on the VMware Icon on the desktop, Click "Ubuntu-64bit" to launch the virtual machine, login at the prompt with username (ubuntu) and password (none)(the word, not blank)
Connect Removable Device to Ubuntu
Ensure the removable devices are assigned to the virtual machine and not windows ("check mark" means connected to virtual machine)
Player> Removable Devices> "name_of_removable_device> Connect (Disconnect from Host)
- Number of devices will vary based on hardware and the number of MicroSD cards inserted
- "Name of removable device will vary depending on the adapter used
- Host is the windows system
- once the removable device is attached to the virtual machine it should stay assigned for the entire session
Open the Removable Device (click on the file cabinet Icon, click on "Storage"
Files in the Storage folder are events and gps.
Files in the Storage/CR folder are continous recording events
To see the date and time look in the column on the right.
(Id the Modified-Time column is not shown you can add it
Copy files to the Windows host
Open and play files with Idrive Player
